Privacy Policy
Last updated 7 October 2026
This policy explains what TribePeer collects when you use tribepeer.com, the mobile app, TribeMeet calls, TribeMate, and institution tools, and why. The contact for privacy questions is support@tribepeer.com.
1. Information you give us
- Account details: name, email, username, password, and, when you add them, a phone number, profile photo, banner, and interests.
- Content: posts, comments, tribe work, assignment files, community and forum messages, direct messages, and files you attach.
- TribeSpace and calls: the title and optional description, whether a space is public or private, the handles you invite, the time you set, and the audio of a recorded call.
- TribeMate prompts and the replies we generate.
- Payment details needed to fund a wallet or buy a plan. Card numbers are handled by our payment partner, not stored as full card data on TribePeer.
- Reports, blocks, and messages you send to support.
2. Information collected as you use TribePeer
- Log data such as IP address, browser or app type, and the time of a request.
- Device tokens if you allow push notifications.
- Session and security cookies so you stay signed in.
- Usage of calls, including when a room starts and ends. Screen sharing, where a call allows it, is visible to the people in that room.
3. How we use it
- To run your account, show the timeline, deliver messages, and host tribes, communities, and forums.
- To place voice calls and TribeSpaces, record a TribeSpace automatically, and produce a transcript and summary for the people allowed to see that space.
- To run TribeMate, count free monthly prompts, and provide Unlimited while a subscription is active. A public TribeSpace summary is generated even if the host is not subscribed, and it is not taken from that host’s free prompts.
- To take payments, send receipts, and email you about invites, a live space, a finished summary, security codes, and similar service messages.
- To investigate abuse, enforce our terms, and keep the service reliable.
4. Who can see your information
Visibility follows the controls in the product. A public post or public TribeSpace can be seen by signed-in members. A connections-only post is limited to your peers. A private profile, private message, private community, or private TribeSpace is limited to the people allowed in. Invite emails go to the member whose handle you entered.
We share information with providers who process it for us: email delivery, push notifications, payment processing, call infrastructure for TribeMeet, and the model provider used by TribeMate. They may only use it to provide that service. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect members from harm.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Recordings and AI
TribeSpace audio is recorded so the space can keep the recording and a written summary. Community and forum recordings are started from the call controls and are kept for a limited time unless a longer period is shown in the product. Transcripts are produced from that audio. Do not say things on a recorded call that you are not willing for the permitted audience to read later.
Text you send to TribeMate, and call transcripts used for a summary, are processed to generate the result. Do not include passwords, payment card numbers, or other people’s private data in a prompt.
6. How long we keep it
We keep account and content data while your account is open and you have not deleted the item. Payment and security records may be kept longer where we need them for accounting, fraud prevention, or legal claims. You can delete your account from settings or by emailing support@tribepeer.com. Backup copies can take a short time to disappear.
7. Your choices
- Edit your profile and choose who can see a post.
- Block another member, or report content.
- Turn off push notifications in your device settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your account data, or ask us to correct or delete it, at support@tribepeer.com.
8. Children
TribePeer is not directed at children under 16. If we learn we have an account for a child under 16 without a parent or guardian, we will delete it. Contact support@tribepeer.com if you believe that has happened.
9. International use and security
TribePeer is operated for members in and beyond Nigeria. Your information may be processed in the country where we or our providers host systems. We use access controls, encrypted connections, and limited staff access. No online service can promise perfect security.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top. Continued use of TribePeer after that date means you accept the updated policy.
